Terms I use in my guides:

Cab(s) = color arrows, color bombs, or color blasts

Color Arrows = combo of color jar and arrow launchers

Color Bombs = combo of color jar and bomb launchers

Color Blast = combo of two color jars

Items in the game:

(If the game uses a different name than I do, it's indicated in parentheses/purple)

Tiles: The regular color squares on a board. Colors: pink, red, orange, yellow, blue, purple. Different levels will have different sets of colors. Some levels only have two colors, some have all six. 2-4 colors are pretty easy to make cabs. 5-6 are hard to make cabs because your odds of getting the color you want dropped onto the board are lower.

Objects: anything on the board that’s not a tile or a weapon. Usually something you need to clear a certain number to finish the level

Arrow (Rocket): Requires 5-7 tiles to match. Starting at Level 3 (see video called ‘changing an arrow’s direction’) | Video guide to changing an arrow's direction

Bomb: Requires 8-9 tiles to match. Starting at Level 3.

Color Jar (Magic Flask): Requires 10+ tiles to match. Starting at Level 4.

Arrow/bomb combo: Starting at Level 5. | Video

Two arrows and a bomb combo: Video

Color jar & arrow combo (Color Arrows): Starting at Level 5/6? Color arrows will virtually always take out the bottom row or two of the board.

Dandelions: Starting at Level 6.

Bags (Seed Bags): Starting at Level 9. Notice that there are light arrows pointing down at the bottom of the columns that have an “exit” for the bags.

Trowel (Hand Trowel): Starting at Level 10.

Box (Box of Seedbags): Starting at Level ?

Rake: Starting at Level 13.

Color jar & bomb combo (Color Bomb): Starting at Level 13.

Bubbles (Water Drops): Starting at Level 15.

Windows: Gaps in the grid where no tiles or objects can go. Starting at Level 20. Usually the tiles from the higher sections will drop down directly into the lower sections as if that gap wasn’t there.

Rocks: Note: these do not drop down if you clear the tiles under them. They stay put until you match next to them or hit them with weapons.

Two color jar combo (Color Blast): Starting at Level 22. Clears all objects at once in this case.

Hard Level: Starting at Level 33. These levels usually require a lot of luck to get the color tiles to match up where you need them. (Often because there are more colors of tiles on the board, making it harder to get a bunch of one color.) Because of this they often take multiple attempts before you can clear them.

Flower Pots (Potted Plants): Starting at Level 41. These can take 1, 2, or 3 hits to clear.

Chestnuts: Starting at Level 51. Some of them take two hits to clear, some just one. You can tell by seeing how “open” they are.

Grass (Weeds): Starting at Level 61. Probably the most hated part of Lily’s Garden. If you don’t clear every square of it off the board it will start regenerating itself and undo all your work. Any move that you make that clears a square of grass will keep it still. Any move you make that doesn’t clear a square of grass, it will take over a color tile next to it. It can’t take over weapons or objects, so if it’s completely surrounded by those it becomes trapped and can’t grow.

  • The easiest way to beat it is if you can make a color blast, which will clear all of the grass off the board at once.
  • The next easiest way to beat it is if it’s trapped at the start of the level, or if you can trap it by surrounding it with weapons or objects, then you can take the time to build a cab without it attacking. Usually a cab launch will kill most or all of the grass.
  • The hardest way is when you can’t trap the grass and you don’t have enough moves to clear it all by matching. On those levels, start by clearing enough grass that you have room to build a cab. You’ll need a buffer zone a couple of tiles thick or the grass will eat your cab as you make it. Alternate your moves between building the cab and knocking the grass back. (See Level 62 video) When you match next to it or use a bomb/arrow on it you can often clear two or more squares, and it can only grow one square at a time, so you will usually be able to keep ahead of it. Sometimes there’s just too much of it, or you don’t get the right color tiles to make matches/cabs, and you run out of moves before you can clear it.

Mushrooms: Starting at Level 71. Need to match tiles of the same color next to them to clear them, or hit them with arrows/bombs/color blast. They don’t “drop” when you clear tiles below them.

Shells (Snail Houses): Starting at Level 81. Can only be cleared by an arrow, bomb, or color blast, not a match. Only need one hit and will drop.

Cages (Birdnets): Starting at Level 91. Don’t drop but once they’re cleared their contents may drop. They can be cleared by matching or weapons.

Bushes: Starting at Level 101.

Lights (Lightbulbs): Starting at Level 101. If only one of the tiles in your match is next to the bush, only one light will turn on. If two of the tiles in your match are next to the bush, two lights will turn on.

Color Vines ("CV") = Cabs are not useful on them unless there are more than one or two of the CVs open at one time.
